Today, TCL Communication announced several affordable devices under its Alcatel brand including a pair of smartphones, a tablet, a smartwatch, and even an LTE home station.
Alcatel 1V and Alcatel 5X
First up is the Alcatel 1V, which features a 5.5-inch display with 960 x 480 resolution, single rear and front 5MP cameras, the octa-core Unisoc SC9863A processor, 16GB of expandable storage, and a 2,460mAh battery. Other 1V variants include 2 or 3GB of RAM and an 8MP rear camera, with three of the four variants running Android Go Pie Edition.

Next up is the Alcatel 5X, which features a 6.52-inch HD+ (1,600 x 720) display, a 16MP+8MP+5MP triple rear camera system, a rear fingerprint scanner, the octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 processor, 4 or 6GB of RAM, 64 or 128GB of expandable storage, a 4,000mAh battery, and Android 9 Pie.
The Alcatel 1V will start at 79 euros (~$87) and be available in four colors: Anthracite Black, Metallic Blue, Metallic Gold, and Metallic Rose. The Alcatel 3X will start at 149 euros (~$164) and be available in three colors: Jewelry Black, Jewelry Green, and Jewelry Rose.
Alcatel Smart Tab 7
Moving to the tablet, we have the Alcatel Smart Tab 7. The tablet features a seven-inch display with 1,024 x 600 resolution, a VGA rear camera, two speakers, the quad-core MediaTek MT8167D processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, a 2,580mAh battery, and Android 9 Pie. There’s even a kickstand to keep the tablet upright on a table.

The Alcatel Smart Tab 7 will be available later this year and start at 79 euros (~$87).
The TCL Movetime isn’t your typical smartwatch, instead it’s aimed at seniors. Running a proprietary OS, the Movetime features a 1.3-inch 240 x 240 square display, a dual-core Unisoc SC9820E processor, 256MB of RAM, 512MB of storage, and a 600mAh battery that promises up to two days of use.

Senior-focused features include large fonts, a locator app that tracks the Movetime and the ability to send SOS messages to preset numbers. Of course you also get all those normal fitness tracker features such as the ability to record steps and distance walked, track your sleep, and remotely set up alarms.
The Movetime will be available “in select markets” later this year and start at 129 euros (~$142).
Last up is the Alcatel LinkHub, which supports LTE cat7 connectivity for up to 300Mbps download speeds and 100Mbps upload speeds. Up to 32 people can connect to the LinkHub at the same time, with support for dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and 2×2 MIMO also onboard.
The LinkHub will start at 129 euros (~$142).
